Terms and Conditions

By using this private reference site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If these terms are not acceptable, do not use the site or its search tools. Government agencies and outside services linked here have their own policies and requirements.

This is a privately operated reference service, not a government agency, sheriff, jail, corrections department, private investigation firm, or consumer reporting agency. Neither this site nor its advertising or search partners provides consumer reports, credit reports, or screening services.

Service Description

The site provides general links and explanatory material about publicly available Schoharie County and New York record sources. It does not store official records, determine custody, release anyone, post bail, file documents, or certify the accuracy of an agency record. An outside search service, a public agency, or a court controls its own results and records.

Acceptable Use

Use the site lawfully and respectfully. Do not use information from the site to stalk, harass, threaten, impersonate, or otherwise harm a person. Do not attempt unauthorized access to the site or an outside system, deploy bots or scrapers, interfere with site operation, or misrepresent your identity in a records request.

You agree not to use this site or its information to make decisions about employment, hiring, housing, tenant screening, credit, insurance, licensing, permits, government benefits, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

FCRA Restriction

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, consumer reports, credit reports, or any service intended for an FCRA-covered decision. Search partners and advertising partners are not authorized through this site to provide a screening service. Use of information for the prohibited purposes listed above is not permitted.

External Sources

Links may point to Sheriff, jail, court, corrections, news, legal-aid, or other external websites. They are supplied for reference, not as an endorsement or guarantee. The site does not control another party’s content, availability, security, terms, data practices, or result accuracy. Review the destination’s own terms before using it.

No Warranties

Material is provided as is and as available. No promise is made that information is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose. Custody and court records can change quickly, and a public source can be delayed, sealed, corrected, unavailable, or maintained by another agency.

Liability and Indemnity

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its operators are not liable for damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site or an external source. You agree to indemnify and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the site or violation of these terms.

Content Ownership

The site’s original text, graphics, logo treatment, and code are owned by Schoharie County Busted Mugshots or its content partners and may not be copied, distributed, or modified without written permission. Government records, logos, and material on linked sources remain subject to the rights and terms stated by their respective owners.

Changes and Access

These terms may be changed at any time by posting an updated version here. Updated terms take effect when posted. Access to the site may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time, with or without notice, to the extent permitted by law.

New York Law and Severability

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute must be brought in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in New York. If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect, and the affected provision will be adjusted only as needed to make it enforceable.

Questions About These Terms

Questions about these Terms and Conditions may be sent through the Contact Us page. Questions about an official record, current custody, or court matter must go to the appropriate government office.
